Homes For Sale: How to Qualify

Many SEND homes are available only to income-qualified residents looking to purchase their first homes. We would be happy to consult with you to see if you qualify. In general, you must:

  • Meet income qualifications
  • Agree to live in the home you buy
  • Live in the home for a predetermined period based on the amount of subsidy in the home, or sell the home to a new owner who meets the same income requirements

2009 Income Limits

In order to purchase a home with grant money or to qualify for home repair, a household cannot make more than the following:

  • 1 Person $38,150
  • 2 Person $43,600
  • 3 Person $49,050
  • 4 Person $54,500
  • 5 Person $58,850
  • 6 Person $63,200
  • 7 Person $67,600
  • 8 Person $71,950

You do not have to meet income requirements to purchase a SEND market rate home.

Stop by our office at 1030 Orange Street (behind the Wheeler Arts Building), or email or call Bryan Conn, Housing Programs Manager, at (317) 634-5079, ext. 109. We’ll help you fill out a simple, two-page form and start the qualification process right away.
